A small but strong storm will move across Japan and into the Pacific Ocean on Saturday. This storm will carry a significant amount of moisture and produce moderate to occasionally heavy rain through the central part of the country, including Tokyo. Showers will continue through much of the day and last into Sunday. Strong, gusty winds will blow through central Honshu. Generally warm temperatures are anticipated across eastern Asia, with the hottest conditions expected through interior China and Mongolia. Typical scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop through Indonesia and the Philippines. Tokyo and Shanghai will see temperatures in the upper 20s C, while Seoul will rise into the mid-20s C. A cold front will move through parts of Western Australia, bringing significant rain to Cape Leeuwin and the far west coast of the Great Australian Bight. A large high pressure system centered near Sydney will expand through much of the rest of the country and provide dry conditions. A few showers are anticipated from Brisbane through Sydney, but any rain will be limited to the coast.
