COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Norwegian authorities say three people were killed and several injured, one seriously, when a tourist bus from Switzerland slammed into a mountainside in central Norway.

Hospital spokesman Svein H. Karlsen said the most gravely injured passenger was flown by helicopter to a hospital in the nearby city of Namsos.

There were 17 people on the bus in Tuesday's accident. Their nationalities were not immediately known.

The cause of the accident in the Nord-Troendelag district was not immediately known but the bus veered off the road and slammed into the mountainside.
