MIAMI (AP) — The center of Tropical Depression Richard has reached the Bay of Campeche off the coast of Mexico but is not expected to re-intensify. The depression's maximum sustained winds early Tuesday are near 30 mph (45 kph). Additional weakening is forecast the National Hurricane Center in Miami says Richard is expected to degenerate into a remnant low later in the day. The depression is located about 135 miles (215 kilometers) west-southwest of Campeche, Mexico, and is moving northwest near 10 mph (17 kph). Richard made landfall in Belize as a hurricane Sunday night, blowing rickety homes off stilts and knocking out power to most of the tiny Central American country, before weakening to a tropical depression Monday and heading toward Mexico.
