PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (AP) — Some residents of American Samoa were jittery after feeling an earthquake just two weeks before the one-year anniversary of the massive temblor that spawned a tsunami and killed 34 people in the U.S. territory. Carol Baqui with the National Weather Office in Pago Pago says they don't expect a tsunami from the 5.5 magnitude quake. She says the quake, which was centered about 183 miles north of Neiafu, Tonga, occurred just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Local radio stations report their telephone lines have been clogged up with a huge volume of calls with people wanting information. The territory will hold a territory-wide memorial service on Sept. 29 to remember the victims of last year's deadly tsunami.
