Three suicide bombings have killed at least 12 people in Benghazi. Two of the blasts have been claimed by the Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries. An Islamic State (IS) affiliate has also claimed a role in one of the bombings, but the provenance of the claim is unclear. The attacks targeted forces affiliated to the Tobruk-based, internationally-recognised government. Violence in Benghazi has increased since 20 March when General Khalifa Haftar pledged to liberate the city of Islamist militants by April.
