Gay rights organisations are planning to hold demonstrations in downtown Tbilisi from 1300hrs local time, while a counter-demonstration by a rival group is held simultaneously. The gay rights demonstration will start in front of the old Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue. The counter-protest will start in the area of the Philharmonic and proceed towards Rustaveli Avenue. Personnel should be aware of the risk of traffic disruption and clashes between the two groups.
