A court has permitted a neo-Nazi rally to be held in the capital, Riga, on 16 March. The rally will commemorate Latvian nationals who served in the German army during World War II. Regarded as “Legionnaires Day”, hundreds are expected to remember the 140,000 Latvian soldiers. However, the controversial rally could attract counter-demonstrations from leftist and anti-fascist organisations.
