ASUNCION, Paraguay (AP) — Authorities say the leader and another member of a small guerrilla group in northern Paraguay have been killed in a jungle shootout with anti-terrorist agents. Lt. Col. Victor Urdapilleta is a spokesman for government forces. He says Albino Jara and Rocio Moraez of the Armed Peasant Association died Tuesday night in a firefight near the town of Cuero Fresco, about 300 miles (480 kilometers) north of Asuncion. He says Jara was the group leader and Moraez had recently joined. The armed group recently separated from the country's principal guerrilla organization, the Paraguayan People's Army, which has been accused of many killings, kidnappings, robberies and attacks on police.
