Demonstrations erupted at Moi University’s main campus in Eldoret after a female student was found raped and killed near one of the university’s dorms. The demonstrations turned disorderly after students blocked police from taking the body to the morgue, demanding an address from the school administration. Students protested as police used teargas in an attempt to contain the situation. In response, students have blocked roads close to the university and are refusing to attend classes until better security arrangements have been implemented. An investigation into the attack is still underway, while no suspects have yet been arrested.
