An overnight thunderstorm has triggered a blackout across Perth. The storms have brought some 13mm of rain, the first of the year for Perth. Thousands of people initially had not power, but repair crews have re-established connection for most, although at 1530hrs local time 3,100 people remained without power. This is down from a peak of 50,000 customers. The storm disrupted flights at Perth Airport with at least 15 flights delayed.
